How to draft your first Tax Return

To create a draft of your tax return, from the dashboard, select the your returns tab.

Next, click “Start Tax year/year Return”.

This is where you will now begin to draft your tax return using the information already stored in your account. Select the type of accounting you wish to draft (Commonly Traditional).

Once you have checked it over, click the “Save Turnover and Proceed” button.

Next, check over your allowable expenses and make sure they are all listed and correct. Then, click “Save Allowable Expenses and Proceed”.

Next, check over your capital expenses and make sure they are all listed and correct. Then, click “Save Capital Allowances and Proceed”.

Finally, fill out the boxes to calculate your taxable profit. Once done, click “Save and Proceed”.

That’s it. You should now have a draft tax return. You can use the figures from this draft to fill in your official HMRC Tax return. You can do this by inputing the figures from this draft on to a paper form version or you can file your tax return online.
